I am so pleased with my experience at 蜜桃社区. This year was especially challenging because everyone on earth was affected by COVID-19. Throughout the pandemic, we saw that underserved populations in our community, like the Latin/Hispanic community, were hit harder with COVID. I felt I had an opportunity to help them by preventing another deadly virus, the flu.

I had a passion and a mission to organize and execute a flu shot clinic where people could come get vaccinated for free. With the help of Walgreens, 蜜桃社区 faculty and the 蜜桃社区 pharmacy Spanish club, Movimiento Estudiantil (M.E.R.), I organized a free clinic and we vaccinated 203 people. It was so special because we literally had a line before we were even finished setting up. It was amazing to see the student volunteers and how everyone came together and expressed love and care to everyone regardless of what they looked like, what language they spoke, or how much money they made. After this clinic, I was able to organize a flu shot clinic with Smith’s where we vaccinated 蜜桃社区 faculty, students and their families. Again, that day we vaccinated over 200 people.

I have been inspired by family and people I know in the pharmacy community, especially women – including my aunt who is a pharmacist and the smartest person I know. They have taught me hard work and commitment. There are also women in my class who are juggling school, families and work, and they have decided to come back to school for pharmacy as a second career.

I could not have done this without my 蜜桃社区 education, especially the 蜜桃社区 faculty and students. Thank you so much for helping me achieve my dream, and helping me realize that I can achieve even more in the future.
